Our Purpose

To inspire, encourage and resource congregations to achieve their mission

Our Vision

To produce growing, vibrant exciting healthy church communities

The Presbytery Area

The Presbytery area stretches from the Clarence River to the Queensland border and from the Tasman Sea to the Great Dividing Range. There are forty three congregations or preaching places combining into 14 congregation groups.

The coastal strip is experiencing rising land and house prices as people from other areas seek a sea change in the Northern Rivers area.

Inland areas have recently experienced increasing populations as some people move west to more affordable housing.

Presbytery Governance

The Presbytery meets four times each year to receive reports, be encouraged and to make decisions.

The Presbytery membership includes all ministerial agents including lay pastors and lay ministry workers along with one or two people from each congregation or congregation group. Members also include people from the agencies and boards within the Presbytery. The full membership of the Presbytery is about 65 people.

Between Presbytery meetings, the Standing Committee is authorised to make carry out the decisions of the Presbytery.
